My current work includes two overlapping series of mixed media paintings entitled "Forms From Nature" and "Garden." These series developed from my interest in focusing more on the process of painting and the materials and less on a narrative. I also wanted to develop a greater sense of quiet and calm in both the creative process and the finished piece.

My source of inspiration has been both natural and decorative forms. They are beautiful and there is an infinite supply of shapes, patterns, and textures for me to work with. I’m not so interested in scientific accuracy as I am in creating a personal vocabulary of shapes and forms I can use repetitively and in various combinations with different patterns, textures, and colors. I use multiple layers of acrylic paints, prismacolor pencils, and collage plus a variety of different tools to create my images
