El Feliz Mariachi Muerto

I have lived in the southwest for over 40 years and this region has had a profound influence on me and my art. Mexican culture, its history, traditions and especially its color have become my art.

"Dia De Los Muertos", or "Day of the Dead" which is a holiday in Mexico where the people honor their loved ones who has passed on. They bring offerings of food and drink to the gravesites and celebrate the life of that person. There are parades and many other festivities.

With my art I try to relive the happy times in life by showing the deceased doing what they love to do in life. My paintings are in essence a celebration of life and living. In whatever theme I choose to paint, color is my main focus. Using bright colors energize me and hopefully the viewer.
